LIGHTING YOUR FIRST FIRE
7. Adding Fuel: When adding fuel to the stove, ensure the existing load has burned down to shorter
昀氀ames and a healthy bed of embers. This allows the new fuel to ignite more easily, maintaining ef昀椀cient
combustion and steady heat output. Adding fuel too early, before the 昀氀ames have reduced, can smother
the 昀椀re, lowering its ef昀椀ciency and making it harder to establish a clean burn.
If you are adding smokeless fuel, adjust the air controls to suit the fuel type. Move the air control lever
to right of centre for smokeless fuels to ensure the additional air昀氀ow required for combustion is
provided. This adjustment helps maintain the ef昀椀ciency and performance of your stove. Always monitor
the 昀椀re and adjust the controls as needed to avoid over-昀椀ring or under-burning.
8. Boost the Fire if Needed:
To quickly ignite additional logs coals or revive a dying 昀椀re, brie昀氀y return the air control lever to the
ignition setting. Once the 昀椀re has stabilised, adjust the lever back to the nominal burn rate to prevent
overheating or damage to the stove.
