LIGHTING YOUR FIRST FIRE
1. Prepare the Firebox:
Begin by clearing any ash or debris from the
昀椀rebox to allow proper air昀氀ow and ensure
ef昀椀cient combustion. Set the air control lever
fully to the left (ignition setting) to maximise
oxygen 昀氀ow, which is crucial for lighting the 昀椀re.
2. Create the Base:
Place a base layer of smaller, well-seasoned logs
at the bottom of the 昀椀rebox. These smaller logs
act as the foundation of the 昀椀re, allowing for
better air昀氀ow and quicker ignition.
3. Build the Kindling Structure:
Arrange the kindling in a crisscross pattern on
top of the small logs. This layered structure
ensures maximum air昀氀ow between the pieces of
kindling, promoting ef昀椀cient combustion and a
clean start.
4. Add Firelighters:
Position a few 昀椀relighters between the layers of
kindling. These will assist with a reliable and
quick ignition.
