Health and Safety Precautions
Special care must be taken during the installation of this stove to comply with all requirements of the
Health & Safety at Work Act.

Handling: Stoves are heavily built, so ensure that adequate facilities are available for unloading and
site handling. Seek assistance when lifting or positioning the stove.
Fire Cement: Certain types of 昀椀re cement are caustic and should not come into contact with skin. In
case of skin contact, wash immediately with plenty of water.
Asbestos: This stove contains no asbestos. If there is a risk of disturbing asbestos during installation,
specialist guidance should be sought, and appropriate protective equipment must be used.
Metal Parts: When installing or servicing this stove, take care to avoid personal injury. Potential risks
include heavy components, sharp edges, and possible trapping points.
Glass: Care should be taken when handling the door to ensure the glass is not knocked.
Electrical Connections: Any electrical services required during the installation of this stove must be
carried out by a registered competent electrician in accordance with the latest edition of BS 7671
(Requirements for Electrical Installations).
Carbon Monoxide (CO) Alarm Requirements
All open-昀氀ued appliances can be affected by atmospheric conditions, which may cause fumes to enter the
house. To mitigate this risk, Building Regulations mandate that a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm must be
installed in the same room as any 昀椀xed solid fuel or wood-burning appliance, whether it is a new
installation or a replacement stove.
The CO alarm must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure effective
monitoring and detection. For additional guidance, refer to the latest edition of BS EN50292.
Alarm Speci昀椀cations

Battery-powered alarms must have sealed-for-life batteries with a minimum lifespan of 7 years to
ensure reliability and minimal maintenance.
